edit2offer (“we”, “us”) helps you tailor your resume for job applications. This policy describes what data the edit2offer website at edit2offer.com and the edit2offer browser extension collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Data we collect
Website
When you use edit2offer, you may provide:
- Job posting URLs, titles, companies, and descriptions
- Resume content (uploaded files or pasted text)
- Edits, analysis results, interview timeline notes, and study guides generated in your workspaces
- Spoken practice answers in Interview mode (transcribed, then sent for coaching feedback)
- Interview questions sent to text-to-speech when you turn on spoken questions
We store this information on our servers so you can return to your workspaces later. We do not require an account to use the service today.
When you submit a job posting URL, our servers may fetch that public page to extract the job title, company, and description.
Browser extension
The optional edit2offer Chrome extension lets you send a job posting from your browser to edit2offer. When you use it, the extension:
- Reads the URL of the page or link you choose to send (only when you click the extension or context menu item)
- Saves your edit2offer site URL in
chrome.storage.syncso the extension remembers your settings across devices signed into the same Chrome profile
The extension does not read page content beyond the URL you send. It opens edit2offer with that URL as a query parameter.
How we use data
We use your information to:
- Save and display your application workspaces
- Parse job postings and resume files you provide
- Send relevant resume and job description text to AI services for analysis and study guide generation
- Transcribe spoken interview practice answers and send the transcript to AI services for coaching feedback
- Read interview questions aloud with text-to-speech when that option is turned on
- Operate, maintain, and improve edit2offer
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use advertising trackers. We use PostHog for product analytics (page views and feature usage) so we can improve edit2offer. Resume text, job descriptions, cover letters, and interview transcripts are not sent to PostHog.
Third-party services
edit2offer uses Anthropic (Claude) to analyze resumes, generate study guides, and give interview practice feedback. When you request analysis, the resume and job description you provide are sent to Anthropic's API. When you record an answer in Interview mode, the audio is sent to our server and transcribed using OpenAI (Whisper). When you turn on spoken questions, the question text is sent to OpenAI's text-to-speech API to generate audio. We send the transcript, question, and related study guide text to Anthropic for coaching feedback. We do not store generated speech or answer recordings after playback or transcription. OpenAI's and Anthropic's privacy policies govern their handling of that data.
edit2offer uses PostHog for product analytics. PostHog receives page views, anonymous or signed-in user identifiers (including your email when you are signed in), and feature-usage events (for example that an analysis ran, not the resume text). Session recordings are disabled. PostHog's privacy policy governs their handling of that data.
edit2offer is hosted on infrastructure providers that process requests on our behalf. They do not use your content for their own marketing purposes.
Data retention and deletion
Workspace data is kept on our servers until you delete it in the app or we remove it as part of service maintenance. You can delete individual workspaces or company folders from the dashboard at any time.
Extension settings stored in Chrome can be cleared by uninstalling the extension or removing its data from Chrome's extension settings.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
edit2offer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when we do.
